Dr. Afshar is a board-certified physician with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins, spider veins, hemorrhoids, and other types of vein disease. He practices at the Vein Institute of Connecticut, located in Newtown, Fairfield, and Westport, Shelton and Avon, Connecticut.

After completing his Bachelor of Science Degree at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and Sheffield University in the United Kingdom, he went on to earn his Medical Degree. Thereafter, he completed his residency at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons Stamford Hospital.
