Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Pablo A. Rengifo-Moreno, who serves patients in Tallahassee, Florida.

A Florida-based cardiologist, Dr. Rengifo-Moreno is affiliated with Southern Medical Group, PA, serving patients at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Southern Medical Group (SMG) was formed in 1988 by the merger of two prominent Tallahassee physician groups. Their physicians practice the specialties of internal medicine and cardiology. They provide adult primary and specialty care, as well as, consultations for other physicians. By advancing medical research, technology and education, the group is committed to promoting the future well-being of their community.

A native of Venezuela, Dr. Rengifo-Moreno earned his medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center of Tufts University, and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Albert Einstein Medical Center. In addition, he completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Jackson Memorial Hospital, and received the John W. Fisher Outstanding Cardiology Subspecialty Fellow Award.

An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

On a more personal note, Dr. Rengifo-Moreno is fluent in both English and Spanish.
