Dr. Isam Nasr practices Pediatric Surgery in BALTIMORE, MD. Dr. Nasr treats children who have an illness, injury, or disease that requires surgery. Some of the surgical problems seen by pediatric surgeons are often quite different from those commonly seen by adult or general surgeons. Dr. Nasr specializes in pediatric colorectal surgery and is the director of the pediatric colorectal center. He diagnoses, treats, and manages patients with congenital colorectal conditions such as Anorectal malformations (cloaca, imperforate anus, and more), and Hirschsprung’s disease. He follows these patients in a multidisciplinary bowel management clinic that sees national and international referrals. Other conditions that he specializes in  include the surgical management of chronic constipation, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohns disease and Ulcerative Colitis), and pelvic trauma. 

As part of his colorectal practice, he works closely with the pediatric urologists and orthopedic surgeons to closely manage cloacal exstrophy patients. Dr. Nasr also treats pilonidal disease using a minimally invasive technique using trephines. 

 

Dr. Nasr also has a General Pediatic Surgery practice and he manages common conditions such as inguinal and umbilical hernias as well as other birth defects.
