Dr. Duffy continued his academic pursuits at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine Degree with special distinction in 1999.
Following his medical education, Dr. Duffy completed his residency training in general surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center from 1999 to 2006. Certified by the American Board of Surgery, he then underwent specialized training in liver and multi-organ transplantation at UCLA under the mentorship of renowned transplant surgeons Ronald W. Busuttil, M.D., Ph.D., and Douglas G. Farmer, M.D., from 2006 to 2008.
