Originally from India, Dr. Vaidya received his medical degree from the Armed Forces Medical College Poona University. After relocating to the United States, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, before completing a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the same educational venue. Later, he completed an additional fellowship in interventional cardiology at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University School of Medicine.
A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Licensed to practice medicine in Texas and Arizona, he serves as a Clinical Cardiology Council Member with the American Heart Association, and has served as the Vice Chairman of the Department of Cardiology at Conroe Regional Medical Center.
Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
