Dr. Neha Patel practices Allergy and Immunology in Olathe, KS and Kansas City, MO for children and adults of all ages. Dr. Patel specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma, food allergy, drug allergy, seasonal allergies, immunodeficiencies and many more allergic diseases. She offers several means of testing including spirometry, skin testing, patch testing and oral challenges. She also offers both oral immunotherapy for foods and allergen immunotherapy for environmental allergies.
Dr. Neha Patel joined The Center for Allergy and Immunology in 2018. Born and raised in London, England, Dr. Patel brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her practice. She attended the world-renowned University College of London Medical School where she earned her medical degree. She received additional medical training at Northwestern Medical School in Chicago, and the UMKC School of Medicine.
She moved to the United States in 2010 and completed fellowship training in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology at UMKC, rotating between Truman Medical Center and Children's Mercy. She is trained to treat the whole spectrum of pediatric and adult allergy and immunology-related diseases. She continued on as faculty at Children’s Mercy Hospital after her fellowship training, and was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Allergy and Immunology. During her time at Children’s Mercy Hospital, she had multiple publications in nationally recognized journals. She was a recipient of the highly regarded Chrysalis Project sponsored by the American Academy of Asthma Allergy and Immunology (AAAAI) in 2013.
At Children’s Mercy she engaged in multiple quality improvement projects that led to changes in the function and efficiency of clinics throughout the Children’s Mercy System. She also constructed standardized protocols for oral challenges to foods and medications. She was also in charge of the educational curriculum for medical students and residents in the Allergy and Immunology section.
As she comes from very humble beginnings, Dr. Patel values volunteer work and giving back to her community. She is a regular participant of the American College of Asthma Allergy & Immunology (ACAAI) annual asthma screening program which helps underserved communities and patient populations screen for asthma and provide treatment/education to those in need. She is very proactive about educating the public and her patients about food allergies and has attended the Food Allergy Research Education (FARE) walk to help raise money for public education for food allergies.
Dr. Patel, is committed to providing the highest quality, evidenced based medical care to her patients. She attends multiple conferences every year to stay up to date with the current and most advanced treatment options available to patients. She cares deeply about all her patients and enjoys helping her patients feel better and building long lasting relationships.
She is board-certified in Allergy and Immunology and is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and Clinical Immunology Society.
