After earning his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” in 1996, Dr. Koci and his wife moved to the United States where he completed his residency in internal medicine at Cambridge Hospital. In Boston, he received a research fellowship in cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, building expertise in various aspects of atrial fibrillation disease. He then completed a 3-year fellowship in cardiology at St.Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts in 2013.
With years of experience in his field, Dr. Koci is board-certified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Certified through the National Board of Echocardiography and the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, Dr. Koci performs non-invasive testing including stress testing. He also performs echocardiographic services in both office and hospital settings, while performing invasive trans-esophageal echocardiograms and cardioversions at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, and Landmark Medical Center. Furthermore, he performs pacemaker and defibrillator interrogations, and ECG/holter/event monitor interpretation.
