Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited psychiatric hospital. Located in the heart of beautiful Panama City, Florida. It provides mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, active duty service members and their families and veterans.  The Hospital’s Mission is “to make a difference to the individuals we serve and our community.”

The hospital combines superb clinical expertise with patient-centered evidenced-based medicine and compassion for suffering.

Dr. Bongiorno has extensive Medical Director experience, having served as Director at: Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs Wyoming, The Behavioral Health Center of Cleveland Clinic Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach Florida, and at Eglin Air Force Base in northern Florida prior to working at ECBH.

A 2008 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Dr. Bongiorno went on to perform his internship in internal medicine at Temple University Hospital in 2009. He then completed his residency in general adult psychiatry and his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 2012 and 2014, respectively.  Dr. Bongiorno was also the Chief Fellow during his child psychiatry training.

Licensed to practice medicine in Florida and Wyoming, Dr. Bongiorno is board-certified in both psychiatry & child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
