There, Dr. Phillips has been an investigator on more than 10 clinical trials on various topics on women’s health, including contraceptive, sexual dysfunction, infection, and vaginal atrophy in advanced age women.
Alongside her clinical role, she has been serving as an Associate Professor within the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School since 2008.
Before starting her position at the Medical School, she worked as a staff specialist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital in New South Wales, Australia, as a senior lecturer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Otago University – Wellington School of Medicine in Wellington, New Zealand, and in private practice in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Following the completion of her medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1988, Dr. Phillips went on to serve her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. in 1992.
Shortly thereafter, she became board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.
With over three decades of experience in her field, Dr. Phillips has authored and co-authored many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in the field of vulvovaginal health, including an online prologue teaching review on vulvovaginal atrophy for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is also involved in clinical research in areas of vulvodynia, vulvovaginal atrophy, and the vaginal microbiome, as well as is a reviewer for UptoDate and several journals, including the Journal for Sexual Medicine.
