Get to know Cosmetic, Restorative & Implant Dentist Dr. Robert J. Young, who serves patients in Manahawkin, New Jersey.

Dr. Young is an expert in implants, veneers, and complex dental cases. For over 30 years, he has been serving patients’ dental needs at his own private dental practice – Young Dentistry – in Manahawkin, New Jersey. He, along with his highly-trained staff, work to provide a comprehensive array of services in a warm and welcoming environment to deliver a dental experience unmatched by any other practice. They work to make their patients feel comfortable as soon as they walk through the door and will always take the extra time to make sure they are having a positive experience. Each patient gets individualized attention from Dr. Young himself, as he knows a personal touch can truly make a difference for someone during their visit.

Dr. Young’s variety of services can address just about every dental issue a person might have. He places a big emphasis on preventive care because the best way to deal with dental problems is to simply stop them before they start. During standard check-ups and cleanings, he and his staff will use the most advanced technology available to detect even the smallest signs of common problems like tooth decay and gum disease. If they find any sort of issue, Dr. Young will come up with a customized treatment plan that is especially suited to the patient’s individual needs, preferences, and budget. His care also goes beyond simply taking care of teeth, as he can also treat patients with chronic jaw pain (known as a “TMJ disorder” or “TMD”), and even help those suffering from sleep apnea.

For the past 20 years, Dr. Young has been on the staff of both the Jersey Shore Medical Center and the Southern Ocean Medical Center, where he is the only general dentist. He has also served as a research associate for the Clinical Research Center for the past 20 years, performing clinical research on all new dental treatments and products.

For his patients’ safety, Dr. Young has completed advanced training in acute cardiac care. He is also a certified ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) doctor.

Dr. Young graduated from the New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry at the top of his class and earned awards for his surgical prowess. He then completed a full hospital-based residency at the Jersey Shore Medical Center, where he also taught residents for many years. Dr. Young also completed a two-year postgraduate program in implant surgery and in dental crowns/bridges/ denture placement over implants at the prestigious Misch Institute of Implantology – an institution which has been attended by only a small percentage of dentists.

Dr. Young has completed all necessary training for oral sedation and all requirements for the administration of IV sedation for his patients at St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Therefore, he can provide both oral and IV sedation to nervous and apprehensive patients whenever necessary.

Dr. Young is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), as well as a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI).

Restorative dentistry is the study, diagnosis, and integrated management of diseases of the teeth and their supporting structures and the rehabilitation of the dentition to functional and aesthetic requirements of the individual. As a cosmetic, restorative & implant dentist, Dr. Young is an expert in complete smile makeovers and cosmetic veneers. He can offer the surgical placement of implants, socket preservation, grafts/ridge/sinus augmentations, as well as prosthetic restorations of dental implants (crowns, overdentures, custom abutments).
