Get to know Family Practitioner Dr. Monica Juarez-Gonzalez, who serves patients in Texas.

A board certified osteopathic family physician, Dr. Juarez-Gonzalez practices at WellMed at Mesquite in Texas.

Today, WellMed is a network of doctors, specialists and other medical professionals that specialize in providing care for more than 1 million older adults with over 16,000 doctors’ offices in Texas and Florida. Specialists include cardiology, podiatry, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, palliative care, wound care, hospital medicine, and more.

Embarking on her academic journey, Dr. Juarez-Gonzalez earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2005. Subsequently, in 2011, she continued her education at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, further honing her expertise in the medical field. 

Following her medical education, Dr. Juarez-Gonzalez dedicated herself to residency training, which she completed in 2014 at the UTSW-Parkland FM Residency program.

Committed to excellence, she is board certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine (AOBFM). The AOBFM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.

Among her professional affiliations, Dr. Juarez-Gonzalez is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. 

The foundation of Dr. Juarez-Gonzalez’ success lies in a deep well of inspiration drawn from her “Abuelito,” a Mexican “Curandero.” This source of motivation has instilled in her an unwavering perseverance, an immense passion for her profession, and an unshakable belief in God’s guidance. 

Her commitment to philanthropic endeavors is evident through her yearly medical mission trips and her long-term aspiration to provide transitional housing for domestic violence survivors, children who have aged out of adoption, and expand low-income housing opportunities. Teaching and communicating with her patients on matters of general well-being is a daily dedication, and being a Spanish-speaking physician allows her to serve the underserved, addressing the need for more Spanish-speaking healthcare professionals.

In her free time, Dr. Juarez-Gonzalez thrives on exploring new destinations, relishing the joy of uncharted territories. Her hobbies revolve around nurturing her physical, mental, and emotional health, through exercise, vacations, prayer, church attendance, and imparting spiritual wisdom to her children. Additionally, she stays engaged in various activities, from attending her children’s soccer games and camping trips to participating in Cub Scout events. 

Her intellectual curiosity finds expression in listening to podcasts that cover topics ranging from real estate investing and financial independence to taxation, religion, and travel hacks. Furthermore, Dr. Juarez-Gonzalez actively engages in real estate investments, a personal interest that complements her multifaceted and fulfilling life journey.
