Dr. Ahmed Elwan was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and grew up in Egypt. He earned his medical degree with honors from Cairo University. After the completion of his echocardiography residency in Egypt, he did his internal medicine residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in NYC where he served as Chief Resident. He joined the cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and served as Chief Fellow during his last year.

Dr. Elwan has been working in cardiology since 2013 and joined Starling Cardiology in 2019 

He lives with his wife and two children in Glastonbury. Outside interests include camping, soccer, and racquetball. He is fluent in English, Arabic, and German and is conversant in medical Spanish..
