Furthering his training in the United States, Dr. Vargas completed his fellowship in hepatology at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital, under the guidance of world-renowned Dr. Eugene Schiff, in 1993.
Board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Vargas is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
