Get to know Rheumatologist Dr. Nosheen Mazhar, who serves patients in Fort Myers, Florida.

Dr. Mazhar is a consultant rheumatologist at Millennium Physician Group in Fort Myers, Florida. She treats disorders affecting the joints, muscles and bones (and may also involve other organ systems).

Formed in 2008, Millennium Physician Group has grown into one of the largest comprehensive primary care practices with more than 750+ health care providers located throughout Florida. With corporate headquarters in Fort Myers, Florida, it consists of primary care offices, Imaging Centers, Lab Services, and Wellness Programs.

Originally from India, Dr. Mazhar earned her medical degree from the Fatima Jinnah Medical College in 1989. After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of North Dakota in 2000, and her fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Minnesota in 2009.

Board-certified in rheumatology, she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Prior to her current endeavors, Dr. Mazhar served as a consultant rheumatology at University Health Park (January 2013 – January 2015), in private practice at the Institute of Rheumatology and Fibromyalgia – Gulf Coast Health Care Services, Inc. (2011 – 2012), a consultant rheumatologist at Ridgeview Medical Center (October – October 2011), and as a consultant in internal medicine at Park Nicollet Health Services (December 2000 – June 2007). 

Rheumatology is a branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. Physicians who have undergone formal training in rheumatology are called rheumatologists. Rheumatologists treat arthritis, autoimmune diseases and osteoporosis.

Among her most notable achievements, Dr. Mazhar has been the recipient of the On-Time Doctor Award (2020) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2020).

Speaking several languages, she is fluent in English and Urdu.
