Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Dima Teitelman, who serves patients in Forest Hills, New York.

A highly skilled cardiologist with over 24 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Teitelman welcomes patients at his private practice – New York Cardiovascular Medicine – in Forest Hills, New York. Well trained in all cardiovascular procedures, he specializes in adult congenital cardiac disorders. His caring and compassionate attitude really helps patients and their family members feel comfortable and knowledgeable concerning their diagnosis and treatment options. Back in 1997, he graduated with his medical degree from the New York Medical College, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2000. Finally, he completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in 2003.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
