Get to know Internist Dr. Cheryl R. Pendergrass, who serves patients in Mesa, Arizona.

A skilled internist, Dr. Pendergrass has been the Hospice Medical Director of Americare Hospice & Palliative Care since its start up in 2005. She is leading the team as their Hospice Physician, making home visits to their patients and at the in-patient unit to manage their pain and symptoms. Not only does she direct the overall plan of care for their patients, she is also a resource to the other Hospice Team Physicians and the interdisciplinary team.

Americare Hospice & Palliative Care is committed to providing specialized care designed for people in the last phase of an incurable illness. They provide many benefits that are not possible in a traditional health-care setting. The focus of care is on pain and symptom relief so their patients can live their life in comfort and peace.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Pendergrass earned her medical degree from the University of Arizona Medical College at Tucson in 1997, and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Arizona Medical College at Phoenix in 2000, and has been practicing medicine since then. She also works part time as a Hospitalist at Banner University Medical Center.
