  • How long should a dental implant hurt?

I’m sorry that you’re having discomfort with your implant. Typically, you don’t have any discomfort. Sometimes after placement it may be a little sore for a day or two, but the large majority have very little soreness at all. READ MORE

  • Can dentists fill cavities between teeth?

Cavities are most commonly seen either in the grooves on the biting surfaces of teeth or in between the teeth. To access this area of decay a Dentist uses either a drill or laser from the biting surface and makes a hole just large enough to remove the diseased tooth structure. The hole is then filled with either a tooth colored plastic material (composite) or a silver colored metal (amalgam). It is perhaps the most common procedure a Dentist performs. READ MORE

  • Which kind of braces are best?

Every person’s mouth is different, depending on how crowded your teeth are, jaw relationship of upper jaw to lower jaw, etc. Invisalign is great option if you are compliant and you are an appropriate candidate. The trays must be worn 22 hours a day. It is easier to take the trays out and clean your teeth than with the traditional brackets and wires. Sometimes tooth movement is more predictable with traditional braces. Unfortunately you want an answer that I can’t really give without seeing you. I would recommend you see an Orthodontist or a Dentist who does Invisalign for a consultation and ask for their recommendation as to which mode of treatment you will be best suited to. Good Luck! Dr. Harvey Jr. is a general & cosmetic dentist who is currently serving patients’ dental needs at Harvey Family Dental Practice in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Harvey Family Dental Practice treats each patient as the individual that they are: with respect, compassion, and attention to every aspect of their dental treatment and goals. The dental practice was founded in 1957 by Dr. Paul E. This one-on-one interaction is a large part of why we are now treating our fourth generation of dental patients. We only treat our patients how we would want to be treated” as stated on Harvey Family Dental Practice’s website.

Dr. Harvey Jr. joined the family dentistry practice in 1981. “I love dentistry. I love the procedures and the people I work with in the office. I love the patients and seeing whole families come through this office” he said.

While at Colby, his number (44) was retired, and he was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches’ first team – All-American Division III – in both 1976-1977 and 1977-1978. He was later inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame for his athletic achievements in 2006.
