Get to know Family Practitioner, Dr. Derrick L. Cameron, who currently serves patients in Deer Park, Texas. 

Dr. Cameron is a board-certified family practitioner and occupational medicine physician who sees patients in private practice in Deer Park, Texas. He is currently licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Louisiana, and Ohio.

Dr. Cameron received his medical degree in 1995 at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He advanced his training with a residency in family medicine conducted at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital (1995 – 1998). He then obtained a Master of Public Health degree with occupational medicine concentration from the University of Texas School of Public Health (2005).

Subsequent to his training, Dr. Cameron received board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family medicine (ABFM). The American Board of Family Medicine is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.Dr. Cameron is also board-certified in occupational medicine through the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

Family medicine is a medical specialty within primary care that provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and family across all ages, genders, diseases, and parts of the body. The specialist, who is usually a primary care physician, is named a family physician.
