Dr. Vascellaro is a board-certified osteopathic family physician who focuses on comprehensive primary health care typically for patients ages 2 and up with a focus on chronic and acute primary care, preventative care, as well as osteopathic manipulation. He has previous experience doing full service primary care, fast-trac ER, worker’s compensation, motor vehicle accidents, and float provider.

As of the summer of 2019, Dr. Vascellaro also began serving as the Chief Medical Officer of Citizen Potawatomi Nation Health Services. This is the top leadership role for both the medical professional and operational sides of the organizational hierarchy, reporting directly to the Governing Body. His time is currently allocated to around 50% Family Practice and 50% Medical Administration. The Citizen Potawatomi Nation Health Services provides high quality and culturally suitable primary care, walk-in urgent care, specialty care, dental care, public health, optometry, behavioral health, physical therapy, nursing, pharmacy, imaging, lab, diabetic services, community health representative services, purchased referred care/contract health services and others.  

Prior to his current position, Dr. Vascellaro served as the Medical Director of Citizen Potawatomi Nation Health Services from 2016 until 2019. He also has personal experience in medico-legal record review, as well as serves as an expert witness in motor vehicle accidents and medical malpractice cases.

Throughout his academic career, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1999. He then went on to attain membership status with the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association.

With a strong foundation of educational knowledge of primary care medicine and years of direct patient care experience, Dr. Vascellaro is board-certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP). He has had a wonderful 17+ year career in direct patient care and still continues this to an extent. He also thoroughly enjoys his grown administrative roles, which include taking on the difficult challenges of healthcare administration in modern medicine.
