Dr. DeBuys is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Personal, quality medical care was the ideal way for her to integrate her extensive scientific background with her desire to improve individuals’ lives.

Having worked in her physician mother’s dermatology office starting at age 15, Dr. DeBuys has long understood the importance of treating patients with compassion and empowering them with education concerning their own dermatological care. Compassion Dermatology was founded on her goal to change the way her patients view medical care, encouraging them to view it as a holistic, ongoing interaction between patient and physician.

Located in Southlake, Texas, Compassion Dermatology exists to facilitate healing, enhance health and beauty, and improve and support skin, hair, and nail health. Dr. DeBuys welcomes patients of all age groups, tailoring care in accordance with each season of life.

Graduating Cum Laude with a double major in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, Dr. DeBuys received her Bachelor of Education degree from Vanderbilt University. She worked as an electrical engineer with Tennessee Valley Authority before confirming her call to medicine.

She completed medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine and her internship in internal medicine at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. She then finished her residency training in dermatology at The George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. 

Specializing in skin care, she is board certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is one of 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Actively informed and up-to-date on the latest research and technological innovations, Dr. DeBuys is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. 

Throughout her extensive career, she has worked in dermatology practices in Charlotte, North Carolina and in Arlington and Southlake, Texas.
