The Franciscan Health Heart Center Michigan City offers one-stop, comprehensive, patient-centered services provided by a team of board-certified cardiothoracic surgeons, electrophysiologists and an advanced practice nurse, all of whom have a track record of diagnosing, treating, and preventing heart disease.

Working in conjunction with the Heart & Vascular department at the hospital, the Heart Center provides the entire spectrum of cardiovascular services. They range from cardiac catheterizations and coronary angioplasty to heart surgery procedures and pacemaker implantation.

In partnership with Franciscan Health, Dr. Hudson II is affiliated with Franciscan Health Dyer, Franciscan Health Hammond, and Franciscan Health Munster.

His acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1987. He served his residency in general surgery at Boston University Medical Center in 1992, and his fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 1994.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Hudson II is board-certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS). The ABTS is an American surgical organization devoted to surgery of the chest. 

Cardiothoracic surgery is the field of medicine involved in the surgical treatment of organs inside the thorax.
