Founded in 1897, Memorial Medical Center is a 500-bed non-profit teaching hospital in Springfield, Illinois. It offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services with a mission “to improve the health of the people and communities we serve.”

Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Chase earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Kansas State University. She then went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1998 before serving a combined residency in internal medicine and psychiatry at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield in 2003.

Since September of 2004, Dr. Chase has been serving as a staff psychiatrist at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Illinois. In July of 2007, she was named Medical Director of the Mental Health Unit.

Licensed to practice medicine in Illinois, she is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
