A native of India, she earned her medical degree from the Dow University of Health Sciences in 1991. After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in anatomic & clinical pathology at the University of California, Irvine in 2001. Later, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program in 2008.

As a testament to her success, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
