Upon receiving his medical degree, Dr. Cohen went on to complete his residency in Radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University Health in Richmond, Virginia. He is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. The American board of Radiology is an independent, not-for-profit organization and is one of 24 national medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties. They were founded to protect the public by assessing and certifying doctors who meet specific educational, training, and professional requirements. Diagnostic radiology refers to the field of medicine that uses non-invasive imaging scans to diagnose a patient. A diagnostic radiologist is a qualified medical physicist who works with radiologists and other physicians on image modalities such as CT (computed tomography), x-rays (radiography), fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). They then use the medical images to interpret and treat health problems in patients.
