An exceptional reproductive endocrinology & infertility specialist, Dr. Nichols is the Founder and Medical Director of Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group (PREG), with office locations in Greenville, Spartanburg, Columbia, and Summerville, South Carolina & Asheville, North Carolina.
Spending the first seven years of his career in academic institutions and hospital settings, he established PREG in 2003, as the Medical and Laboratory Director, to be able to care for his patients without institutional constraints. He has grown PREG to be one of the premier fertility clinics in the United States.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Nichols graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Southwestern College, and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where he was inducted in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and completed his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

Reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) is a surgical subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology that trains physicians in reproductive medicine addressing hormonal functioning as it pertains to the reproduction, as well as the issue of infertility. While most REI specialists primarily focus on the treatment of infertility, reproductive endocrinologists are trained to also evaluate and treat hormonal dysfunctions in females and males after the reproductive years.
