Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Mitchell C. Shultz, who serves patients in Northridge, California. 

Dr. Shultz is an ophthalmologist serving patients in Northridge and the surrounding communities. He is affiliated with Shultz Chang – a practice dedicated to excellent service offering LASIK, laser cataract surgery, cataract implant options, BOTOX and eyelid cosmetic treatments, eye exams, and treatment for dry eye and glaucoma. 

Dr. Shultz earned his Medical Degree (MD) from New York Medical College in 1992. He went on to complete and internship at UCLA and his residency in ophthalmology at the University of California Irvine. He completed a fellowship in refractive surgery at Instituto Zaldivar and in oculoplastic surgery under David Tenzel, MD, in Miami, Florida. 

Dr. Shultz is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCR), and the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS). The AAO is the world’s largest association of eye physicians and surgeons. A global community of 32,000 medical doctors, they protect sight and empower lives by setting the standards for ophthalmic education and advocating for their patients and the public. 

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. As an ophthalmologist, Dr. Shultz can diagnose and treat diseases, perform eye operations and prescribe eyeglasses and contacts.
