Is lactose intolerance a lifelong condition?
Lactose intolerance is not an allergy. It is a lack of the enzyme,(lactase) that separates the lactose sugar into its two components sugars(galactose and glucose). Lactose intolerance generally is lifelong. It can be present at different ages. I hope this helps. READ MORE

What can you give a 3 year old for allergies?

Allergies or hives?
It could be several different things. It depends on how long he’s had it, does it come and go, does it itch, how long do the bumps last, does it blister, bleed or scale, is he an allergic child in general, is there a family history of allergy, eczema, hives, poison ivy, drug allergy... As a board-certified allergist and immunologist, Dr. Call’s special interests include food allergy and exercise-induced asthma. He practices full time treating adults and children with allergies at Richmond Allergy & Asthma Specialists (RAAS) in Henrico, Virginia.

In his current capacity, Dr. Call is also the Co-Founder, President & Medical Director of Clinical Research Partners (CRP), a clinical trial company. CRP performs clinical trials in allergy and other internal medicine related areas.
In 2005, he was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to the Commonwealth Health Research Board (CHRB) and was the Chair until 2015. CHRB provides funding to universities, hospitals, and other facilities throughout the State of Virginia for research projects that benefit the citizens of Virginia. Previously, Dr. Call served as the President of the Allergy and Asthma Society of Virginia, a two-year post, and as President and Chairman of the Board of the Richmond Academy of Medicine.
Pertaining to his educational background, Dr. Call earned his medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 1987. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at Michigan State University, Grand Rapids Campus, before going on to complete his fellowship in allergy at the University of Virginia. There, he remained on staff as an Instructor in Medicine for a period of two years, teaching and researching asthma before moving to Richmond.
Following his schooling, the doctor earned board certification in allergy and immunology through the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, whose mission is to improve the quality of medical care by the development and utilization of professional and educational standards for the initial certification and maintenance of certification of physician specialists in allergy and immunology.
In addition, he earned board certification in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Throughout the years, serving as a Certified Principal Investigator (CPI), Dr. Call has conducted over 250 clinical research trials in the areas of allergy, bioequivalence, cardiology, dermatology, endocrine-metabolism, gastroenterology, infectious disease, medical devices, neurology pain management, pediatrics, respiratory, urology, vaccines, well patient, and women’s health.
Allergy and immunology involve the management of disorders related to the immune system. These conditions range from the very common to the very rare, spanning all ages and encompassing various organ systems. An allergist/immunologist is a physician specially trained to diagnose, treat, and manage allergies, asthma, and immunologic disorders, including primary immunodeficiency disorders.
For several years running, Dr. Call has been named a Top Doc by Richmond Magazine. His favorite thing to do outside of allergy is spending time with his wife, Mary, and his 4 lovely daughters.
