The Village of Great Neck NY, 11021About
Dalia Layliev is licensed and holistic acupuncturist practicing on Long Island, NY. She graduated with high honors earning her Double Masters Degree in Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine and Health Sciences from New York College of Health Professions in Syosset, New York in 2014. Her passion for natural healing started early on with the tragic loss of her father to Leukemia while she was expecting her first child in 2010. With loss came pain and emotional distress that was soon comforted when she had her first acupuncture session at the discretion of her family and friends. Her treatment provided momuntary emotional release, comfort, safety and a new profound respect for holistic medicine. With the birth of her first born daughter, Dalia vowed to uphold the sanctity and pureness of her health and well-being, along with the health of her growing family. She begain her pursuits to start a new journey and quickly enrolled in the acupuncture masters program when her daughter was merely 6 months old.
Dalia is passionate about sharing the countless benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with all her patients. She strives to explain in full detail how the body works, how acupuncture enhances and stimulates the central nervous system to trigger a neurological response to stimulate proper blood flow and circulation of Qi (the body's natural energy) and blood flow, for physical well being. The body should always be treated from the root of the ailment in order to gain the maximum benefit of whole-body harmony. She evaluates and treats patients based on the concepts of oriental medicine. As an acupuncturist, she completes her evaluations by getting a patient history, looking at and palpating (touching) the body, examining facial palor, tongue diagnosis and pulse evaluation before and after each treatment. Then, based on the patients' medical needs, she place very fine, sterile, acupuncture needles into a catered list of acupuncture points and protocols personally designed for each patients' diagnostic necessity. Stimulating these points and nerves is how Dalia treats the patients condition, in addition to using a wide array of other microsystems in the body, manual manipulations, cupping therapy, electrostimulation and auricular therapy. Many of the bodys systems respond beautifully to acupuncture, and it can treat a diversity of medical ailments.

Does acupuncture help nerve pain?
Absolutely! Nerve pain occurs when there is a blockage of qi (energy) and blood flow in the body. If qi and blood don't flow freely, our cells and tissues dont receive the necessary nourishment for our bodies to perform optimally, therefore, creating discomfort and pain. Acupuncture works wonders for neck pain. Aside from needles, acupuncturists can do a myofascial release known as a Gua Sha treatment using a handheld tool to help bring blood flow and circulation to the surface of the muscles and skin and help roll out any "pulled muscles" and achiness. It is like getting a generous massage catered to your preference of pressure. Adding the necessary acupuncture points with electrical stim helps to fatigue muscles and create a more relaxed environment for your nerves and essentially leave you feeling better than when you initially walked in for your treatment!
