Get to know Internist Dr. Dina Diehl, who serves patients in Frisco, Texas.

Efficient with a keen eye for details, Dr. Diehl is a highly trained and skilled board certified internist and a certified functional medicine specialist. She works alongside Humera Ahmed, MD, at Signature Internal Medicine in Frisco, Texas. 

Promoting optimal wellness and primary care services for men and women 18 and older, she cares for her patients using a concierge medicine model, allowing them 24/7 access to providers, same-day appointments, and little to no office wait times.

With a focus and passion on health and wellness, Dr. Diehl is proactive with preventative care. She has experience in treating many chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, hormone therapy, gut issues, and obesity, to name a few. She not only treats these conditions but looks to find the root cause of the disease so she can see why her patients are truly unwell. 

In addition to standard lab tests, Dr. Diehl will use advanced testing to look deeper at patients hormone metabolism, gut microbiomes, adrenal gland function, vitamins and genetics when needed. By using cutting-edge, holistic testing and technologies, she is able to help patients take control of their health and works closely with them during their health care journey. Her caring, friendly demeanor makes them feel comfortable during each visit

With an impressive educational background. Dr. Diehl completed medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then attended a residency program at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio, and also completed some training at the esteemed Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. 

She has practiced for over 15 years with medical experience at Texas Health Plano, as a hospitalist and outpatient internist. 

Only 1 of 1900 providers worldwide that have earned a certification in functional medicine, Dr. Diehl combines conventional internal medicine with functional medicine concepts to help her patients achieve their best health. Functional medicine is an individualized patient-centered scientific-based approach that allows patients and the practitioner to work together to address the root cause of disease instead of just treating the symptoms.

To stay current with the latest internal and functional medicine advances, Dr. Diehl maintains her medical credentials. She holds medical licenses in Texas, and is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the Obesity Medicine Association, and the Institute for Functional Medicine. 

An authority in her field, the doctor is board certified in internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults (internists). 

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
