Dr. Patel received his medical degree from the University of Michigan, where he was a Dean's Merit Scholar and the only graduate with distinction in research, service, and medical education. He then completed his residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program where he was named Chief Resident of the Year. He also completed an adult hip and knee reconstruction fellowship at OrthoCarolina, an Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO) trauma fellowship in England, and obtained an Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management. He has been named as one of Forbes Magazine's top 30 under 30 list for his contributions and innovations in health care.
