A part of Michigan’s largest health care system, Beaumont Hospital, Troy offers a comprehensive array of health care services, continuing to develop to meet the needs of the growing communities it serves. Its mission is “to offer compassionate, extraordinary care every day.”
The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of Damascus University in Syria in 1973. He then went on to perform a residency in internal medicine at the said establishment in 1976, after which he relocated to the United States. Once there, he pursued an internship at Macomb Hospital Center and a residency in neurology at Wayne State University, completing his training in 1981.
A year later, in 1982, Dr. Rayes attained board certification in neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.
Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
On a more personal note, Dr. Rayes speaks both English and Arabic.
