Get to know Podiatrist Dr. Julie Schottenstein, who serves patients in Miami and Hollywood, Florida.

Dr. Schottenstein is a double board-certified, fellowship-trained podiatrist & an industry leader. She is the Founder of The Schottenstein Center, with state-of-the-art facilities located in Miami and Hollywood, Florida.

The Schottenstein Center provides quality care that is unique to each patient in a professional environment that is always welcoming and supportive. Dr. Schottenstein makes it a point to stay on top of the latest medical advances, utilizing the most up to date techniques to get patients back on their feet and improve function with minimal downtime.

She spends quality time with each patient to meticulously evaluate their diagnosis while providing an explanation and treatment plan that is easy for them to understand. She and her team pride themselves on personalized attention and encourage patients to ask as many questions as they feel necessary. 

Helping patients regain quality of life, Dr. Schottenstein is proactive in staying on top of changing guidelines and techniques to treat current conditions and prevent future ones. She has hospital or surgery center affiliations in Miami with Mercy Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Jackson North Medical Center, Aventura Hospital, Plantation General Hospital, Weston Outpatient Surgery Center, Westside Regional Medical Center, Memorial Regional Hospital, Memorial Regional Hospital South, Memorial Hospital Pembroke, Memorial Hospital West, and Broward Health Medical Center. 

As an educator, she holds a clinical faculty position for five different residency programs.

A native Miamian, Dr. Schottenstein completed her undergraduate studies at Boston University. She then went on to earn a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University before graduating in the top 10 percent of her class with her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. 

Thereafter, she completed an extensive three year surgical residency, specializing in foot and ankle reconstruction at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Miami. During residency training, Dr. Schottenstein received advanced training in foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma, sports medicine, diabetic limb salvage, and wound care. Following residency, she completed her fellowship training in advanced foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, and now serves as clinical faculty for the fellowship program. 

A Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Schottenstein is also a board-certified Independent Medical Examiner experienced in dealing with workers’ compensation and personal injury patients, and in performing Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs).

Experienced in quality care unique for every patient, she is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. She also has professional society memberships with the Florida Podiatric Medical Association, the American Podiatric Medical Association, the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine, the Dade County Podiatric Medical Association, and the Broward County Podiatric Medical Association.

A podiatrist, also known as a podiatric physician or a foot and ankle surgeon, is a medical professional devoted to the treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. Happily married, Dr. Schottenstein lives in Miami with her husband and two children.
