Get to know Acupuncturist Farrar V. Duro, who practices in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Farrar, a licensed acupuncturist and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, strives to help women improve their polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) symptoms naturally and boost their fertility by giving them the lifelong tools to succeed no matter what obstacles they may face. She practices reproductive acupuncture at Florida Complete Wellness in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Florida Complete Wellness is an integrative medicine clinic specializing in natural health and offering patients a unique approach utilizing acupuncture, Arvigo Techniques of Mayan Abdominal Therapy, functional and Chinese herbal medicine, nutritional consultations, massage therapy, low level laser therapy, guasha facials, and more. The clinic’s specialties include helping women and men overcome infertility and hormonal imbalances using a proven, integrative approach developed over the course of several years, and maintaining close relationships with several South Florida reproductive medicine specialists and gynecologists. After overcoming her own struggles with PCOS and endometriosis using a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other natural methods, Farrar felt tremendous joy. So much so that she decided to share her methods with other women and founded The PCOS Revolution Academy™ along with The PCOS Revolution podcast on Apple Podcasts. 

Early in her career, after graduating from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine, Farrar performed her post-graduate training at Shandong University of TCM in Shandong, China. She has since specialized in the treatment of PCOS, infertility, and hormonal imbalances with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and has a passion for women’s health and wellness. This path led her to pursue advanced pregnancy training in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy™ and publication of her first book, The Smart Couple’s Guide to Getting Pregnant, An Integrated Approach in 2015.

In addition to being a certified Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, she is a member of the Florida State Oriental Medicine Association. Moreover, she holds regular speaking engagements at local universities, hospitals, and IVF centers to advocate for a better understanding of integrative women’s health between patients, doctors, and other complementary healthcare providers.

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine and a key component of traditional Chinese medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body. The practice is also used to maintain general health. Acupuncturists treat a variety of physical and psychological issues like internal medicine hypertension or anxiety. “My patients have been my greatest teachers and have inspired me to reach out to other women who might not have the support they need to do the previously unthinkable…take back control of their bodies without disguising their conditions with medications.” as stated by Farrar.
