Get to know Internist Dr. William Johns, who serves patients in Derby, Connecticut.

A seasoned internist, Dr. Johns is affiliated with Griffin Faculty Physicians, working with patients at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut. His clinical interests include medical informatics and nuclear medicine.

In regards to his educational background, he received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and completed his residency in nuclear medicine at Danbury Hospital in 1986. He then went on to complete an additional residency in nuclear medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 1988.

With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is triple board-certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, and the American Board of Medical Examiners. He is also an active member of the American College of Physicians.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists.
