Physical Medicine Consultants specializes in non-surgical, medically conservative treatment options for pain in the spine and joints due to injuries caused by work, sports, or physical activity. The state-of-the-art interventional suites allow doctors Lazoff, Stensland, and Zolman, who formed the practice in 2007, to perform a variety of advanced treatments in the conveniently located Fort Wayne office.

Back in 1994, Dr. Zolan earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He then went on to serve his internship at Clarian Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis, and his residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.

Following his education, the doctor became board-certified in pain medicine and physical medicine & rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is accomplished through a process of certification and maintenance of certification that fosters excellence and encourages continuous learning.

Alongside his clinical role, Dr. Zolan serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Indiana University School of Medicine. 

Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also known as physiatry and physiatrics, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. Physiatrists treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons.
