Get to know Family Physician Dr. Ian S. Tucker, who serves patients in Somers, Connecticut. 

Specializing in family medicine and primary care, Dr. Tucker is an attending physician at Trinity Health of New England Medical Group – Somers Family Medicine. 

In the state of Connecticut, he is affiliated with Johnson Memorial Hospital and UConn John Dempsey Hospital.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Tucker graduated with his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1998. A year later, in 1999, he performed his residency in family medicine at UPMC Altoona.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP), the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
