She completed her residency in pediatrics at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado and served in the Air Force prior to coming to Dover. She was also the owner of The Center for Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine for a period of 27 years from 1991 until 2018.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). Founded in 1933, the ABP is an independent, nonprofit organization whose certification is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence. 

Additionally, she is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified DOs who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases in infants, children, and adolescents.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. As a pediatrician, Dr. Pillsbury examines, diagnoses, and treats children of all ages with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses.
