Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Mohamad Shahmohamady, who serves patients in Homestead, Florida.

Licensed to practice medicine in Florida, Dr. Shahmohamady is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who specializes in female reproductive health and gynecological health issues. He is affiliated with Homestead Hospital, which is a part of Baptist Health South Florida.

Homestead Hospital has been a part of the south Miami-Dade community since 1940, when local physician James Archer Smith opened it as a 10-bed hospital east of Krome Avenue. Today, Homestead Hospital is a modern, full-service 142-bed facility committed to providing care to patients whose socioeconomic issues ultimately affect their overall health.

A 1969 graduate of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine in Iran, Dr. Shahmohamady relocated to the United States for the purpose of furthering his training. Once there, he completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami.

In the doctor’s professional experience, he is affiliated with several hospitals in his local area, including Baptist Hospital of Miami and Jackson South Community Hospital.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.
