He earned two Bachelor of Science Degrees, one from San Jose State University in Business Administration, and a second in Dental Sciences from the University of California, San Francisco. After earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry in 1996, Dr. Alvarez completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Palo Alto, California. Driven by a commitment to lifelong learning, he is certified to provide orthodontic treatment, having completed the orthodontic programs at Progressive Orthodontics, and is a certified Invisalign provider. With quality performance in all aspects of dentistry, Dr. Alvarez holds a Pediatric Oral Sedation Permit in the State of California. He is also a past president of the University of California, San Francisco Dental Alumni Association.
