Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Galea is a trusted psychiatrist in private practice in Union, New Jersey. Her specialities include anxiety and panic disorders, depression, obsessive compulsive disorders, schizophrenia disorders and women’s issues. 

Licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey and New York, she is affiliated with Trinitas Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Galea obtained her medical degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania in 1987. Dr. Galea relocated to the United States to further her training. She completed a four-year residency in psychiatry at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY, graduating in 1998.

Dr. Galea is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). 

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.
