When my doctor left the practice I was transferred to her automatically. Upon notification, I contacted the office to see what the status of my appointment was with my original doctor. I was told I needed to rebook and it would be nearly 3 weeks. I explained that I was scheduled to see my original doctor much sooner to go over my medications and that I would run out before the 3-week date they gave me. I also explained that the medication I was running out of was for phycological issues. They said there was nothing open before the date they offered me. I was told not to quit cold turkey and would be facing horrible withdraw from one of them and ask what it is I should do when that definitely happens. She was silent so I asked ...Go to the ER? After being placed on hold I was told me to come in that afternoon. I was taken to exam, and she arrives for what was the first time I ever met her. She asks what was so important and I went through the story again. She handed me a specimen cup stating "bathroom is now the hall to the right". I took care of that and she came back and said you tested positive for marijuana do you have a card for that? I said yes. She then said you get nothing till you test clean for THC. I asked what I should do now that she was refusing to treat me for a time that would make me go through withdrawal. She said to go to your marijuana doctor. I then had to explain the Michigan Medical Marihuana program to her. It meant nothing and she let me leave that office with no medication or solution to my impending sick. It occurred to me that she must not have even glanced at my file as she would have seen that I was a patient at a mental facility by 4th grade and started on meds and therapy in the 3rd. That I had been under treatment for 30 plus years and not a person fishing for drugs. Sadly that is exactly what she thought of me. Her offal bedside manner screamed it. I found it very strange that a doctor in a sate that marijuana is legal and had study medicine in Amsterdam, in particular, could be so closed to law-abiding people in the program. In the end, I did get to refill my acid reflux med. I wish her the best and encourage her to open her mind to advances and give them a fair review. I can not, however, recommend her as I found her to unkind, uncaring, judgmental, and rather cold in disposition while ignoring the obvious suffering of a patient. I left the exam and went to the counter and switched doctors. While doing so she stops in passing to remake that I was not going to get different answers for anyone else. I thanked her for her time. Through that, I found a great McLaren doctor that has been key in a great deal of improvement in life.
