Holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Science from Rutgers University, Dr. Shariff earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2007. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Camden, Cooper University Hospital in 2009, and was named Chief Resident in 2010. Later, he completed his fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in 2013.

With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
