A trusted pediatrician, Dr. Alzein serves the communities of Evergreen Park and Oak Lawn, Illinois at his private practice, Alzein Pediatrics. His areas of clinical interest include newborn care, asthma, and allergic rhinitis.

A native of Syria, Dr. Alzein earned his medical degree at the University of Damascus in 1988. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1994.
As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
A very active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Alzein served as the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Little Company of Mary Hospital (LCMH), and maintains hospital privileges at Advocate Christ/Hope Children’s Hospital and Lurie Children’s Hospital. He is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.
In the past, he has served as a Clinical Instructor for Midwestern University in Downers Grove and Olympia Fields from 1994 to 1996. He gained extensive experience working as a hospitalist caring for critically ill children in Pediatric Intensive Care Units while providing care for children in the community through his offices located in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults.
