“When I was five, I decided I wanted to be a physician. I enjoyed putting Band-Aids on my family members and friends, as well as looking in their mouths with a tongue depressor.  I chose medical oncology as a specialty, because of my personal experiences with losing loved ones at an early age. I am motivated to come to work by the pure enjoyment of looking after the needs of cancer patients and their families” stated the doctor.

Obtaining his undergraduate degree from Yale University, he went on to complete his medical training at the Temple University School of Medicine in 1979, before completing his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine in 1986. Later, he completed his fellowship in hematology & medical oncology at the Baylor College of Medicine in 1990.
