Get to know Podiatrist Dr. Naim G. Shaheed, who serves patients in Georgia.

Being a dedicated board-certified podiatrist, Dr. Shaheed specializes in foot and ankle surgery, diabetic wound care, shockwave therapy, vascular testing, and athletic injuries. He has been in private practice in the Metro Atlanta area since 1991.

In his current capacity, he also tends to patients at Ankle and Foot Center of Georgia with offices in Lithonia and Atlanta, Georgia. There, he seeks to offer comprehensive services in a comfortable environment at the convenience of his patients.

The doctors and professional staff at the Ankle and Foot Centers of Georgia strive to stay abreast of the latest and most state-of-the-art concepts in ankle and foot care. The doctor is affiliated with Emory Hillandale Hospital, Emory Healthcare – DeKalb Medical Center, Emory University Hospital Midtown, Piedmont Atlanta Medical Center, and the International Center for Foot and Ankle Surgery in Jonesboro.

Among his professional experience, Dr. Shaheed serves as Chief of Staff at Emory Hillandale Hospital, a team physician at the Mohammed School of Athletic Programs, a team podiatrist at NCAA GA Tech Baseball Spring Classic, a company podiatrist at the Ballethnic Dance Company, a consultant for the Wesley Chapel YMCA Basketball Program, an Externship Director of the Decatur Hospital’s Surgical Residency Program, and a member of the Emory – DeKalb Hospital Foundation Board.

A native of Georgia, Dr. Shaheed earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Florida. He then went on to complete his residency through the Hialeah/Palmetto Residency Program.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, he is a member of the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association, the American Podiatric Medical Association, the American Diabetes Association, and the American College of Sports Medicine. 

Moreover, he is board-certified through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, whose mission is to protect and improve the health and welfare of the public by advancing the art and science of foot and ankle surgery. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the “100 Black Men” of DeKalb and is a part of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

A podiatrist, also known as a podiatric physician or a foot and ankle surgeon, is a medical professional devoted to the treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. They can treat injuries and complications from ongoing health issues like diabetes. 

In his personal life, Dr. Shaheed resides in Snellville. In his spare time, he enjoys scuba diving and doing karate.
