The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1976. He then went on to complete his internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Following his training, he attained board certification in both gastroenterology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

With an impressive 40+ year professional journey, Dr. Wolfson specializes in all aspects of diseases of the digestive system, as well as endoscopy, colon cancer screening, liver disease, and inflammatory bowel diseases. Prestigious professional societies and associations of which he is a member of include the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Physicians (Fellow), and the American College of Gastroenterology.
