A thoughtful pediatric pulmonologist, Dr. Jalou is the Associate Director of the IU Health Sleep Disorders Center and the Director of the Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Department at IU Health North Hospital. She also serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Indiana School of Medicine.

IU Health North Hospital has provided leading family-centered care to Carmel and Hamilton County residents since 2005. Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Jalou earned her medical degree from the University of Aleppo School of Medicine in Syria in 1990. After relocating to the United States, she completed a transitional residency in internal medicine at The VA Medical Center and Boston University School of Medicine in 1995, followed by her residency in pediatrics at St. Joseph Medical Center and Children Hospital / Seton Hall University in 1998, and her fellowship in pediatric pulmonary disease at Westchester Medical Center / New York Medical College in 2001.

Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in pediatric pulmonary disease, sleep medicine, and pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Maintaining fellowship status, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (FAASM), and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Jalou is an active member of the American Thoracic Society, and the Indiana Society of Sleep Professionals.

Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. Pediatric pulmonologists diagnose, treat, and manage children from birth to 21 years old with breathing and lung diseases.
