Get to know Aesthetics & Lifestyle Medicine Specialist Dr. Lisa Profera, who serves the population of Michigan.

Dr. Profera currently practices as a Aesthetics & Lifestyle Medicine Specialist with her private practice Projuvu MD. Additionally Dr. Profera is the Medical Director for Hair Free Center and also the health columnist for BRICK magazine. Dr. Lisa Profera offers a wealth of knowledge and talent. She is passionate about integrating the best practices of Aesthetics and Rejuvenative Medicine to help patients look better and feel better. She believes in “projuvenation”; being proactive about rejuvenation and defying the aging process both inside and out. She holds certification from the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Profera combines her artistic eye with her medical skills to provide nonsurgical facial rejuvenation services with Botox and hyaluronic acid fillers. She also uses Botox to treat medical conditions such as bruxism (grinding of teeth), TMJ pain, certain headaches and excessive sweating. Dr. Profera is very excited to offer new cutting-edge treatments with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) for rejuvenation of the face, neck and décolleté, treatment of acne scars, other scars, stretch marks and thinning hair.

As an avid CrossFit athlete for ten years, Dr. Profera is passionate about the role of exercise, healthy eating, stress reduction and adequate sleep for peak physical performance, overall wellness and anti-aging. She incorporates aspects of precision medicine, functional medicine, fitness, nutrition and supplementation to help patients optimize their lives. She is also a doTERRA Wellness Advocate and Educator (natural whole plant solutions for health) and an Independent Distributor for BEMER (a revolutionary bio-energy medical device from Europe).

Originally from New York, Dr. Profera received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and an MD from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1989, giving her over three decades of experience in her field. After completing her pediatrics residency at the University of Michigan, she worked as a primary care pediatrician in Ann Arbor for twenty-three years. In addition to CrossFit, she enjoys Bikram Yoga, dressage horseback riding, travel, cooking and creating marble mosaics.
