Dr. Salmassi received his Medical Degree (MD) from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. He then completed a residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Dr. Salmassi is board certified in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology (ABP). The ABP is a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties, is to serve the public and advance the profession of pathology by setting certification standards and promoting lifelong competency of pathologists.

Sadegh N. Salmassi, MD, FAAFP, FCAP, attended Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran, and received his medical degree in 1973, followed by two years of military service. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago (1975-1979). Furthermore, he conducted fellowship training in blood banking and immunohematology at the same educational venue (1979-1980).
