Sadegh N. Salmassi, MD, FAAFP, FCAP, attended Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran, and received his medical degree in 1973, followed by two years of military service. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago (1975-1979). Furthermore, he conducted fellowship training in blood banking and immunohematology at the same educational venue (1979-1980).
